OUR BEAUTIFUL EARTH (5 MIN)
As I watch this video I can't help but be aware of the images seared into my mind's eye of the many horrors and sufferings
both animals and humans are forced to endure.
I can only momentarily enjoy the wonderous images appearing in the video, because on the other side of them are the slaughterhouses, the Ausschwitzes and Darfurs, the hunters and so-called "sportsmen", the callous murderers of animals because they have fur, ivory, or it's exciting to shoot a living, moving target, killing in animal shelters or on the streets of our cities, or those in the oceans, the whales, the dolphins, countless other swimmers, forcing women to cover themselves from head to toe so as not to arouse the men, raping someone because it provides a moment of pleasure for the raper, spewing industrial waste into the air and water as a side effect of producing more consumer goods, or digging precious metals out of the earth, killing animals because they are in the way of progress, killing people because they are in the way of progress or just in the way, bashing in the skulls of seals on the ice, keeping animals in cages so they can be experimented on, have their milk, eggs, bile, fur taken from them, all without asking them if they mind! This is not a complete list of what our beautiful earth is being subjected to, and surely the great majority of us who are aware of this most tragic side of life would say, "NO this must stop, and I will DO SOMETHING!!?"
