Hello and welcome to what I trust will be a most useful and informative collection of links and articles pertaining to the issues of cats and dogs in animal shelters; puppy mills, pet stores, stray dogs and cats, the no kill movement, and articles on the health and well-being of our companion animals.
One blog entry titled "State by State", has current and past articles about what each state is or isn't doing to better the lives of cats, dogs, and other "pets." Your thoughts and suggested references in the comment section are welcome and will be helpful in maintaining updated information in each state. I will be adding entries for Canada and other countries in due time.
Under the blog titled "PET STORES: no more live animals!", a list of pet stores selling animals from breeders and puppy mills is being collected. This is part of a campaign started by Worldwide Events to End Animal Cruelty (WEEAC), weeac.com. There is no national list like this, so we would like to create one, making it easy to then contact those pet stores in an effort to have them stop buying animals from breeders/puppy mills. I know there are many of you who are very much involved with shelters, rescues, fostering, TNR, spay neuter, organizing protests. It's a good work, and I thank you for your continuing commitment, passion, and unwavering perseverence!
